Medina Vets on the Isle of Wight joined CVS in May 2017. The main vet surgery is located close to the car ferry with links to Portsmouth. There are three practices, the main site at Wootton Bridge, with branch surgeries in Newport and Bembridge.
The Island has many costal walks and easy access to the mainland and we experience the best of rural life with the benefit fantastic coastline, beaches, cycle paths etc.
We now we have the exciting opportunity for a Head Vet to join our team on a 6 month contract while our Clinical Director takes a well-deserved sabbatical. As a team we are dedicated to providing clinical excellence and the highest standard of client care. In the role as our Head Vet you will play a vital role in managing our busy caseload whilst gaining valuable leadership experience with the support from the Regional Director (who lives locally), Hub Clinical Lead, Operation Support Manager and the local team.
As you will expect, no day is ever the same so you can expect to experience a varied mixture of clinical work, leadership, management and juggling. We will make sure you also have enough time to develop your own interests while supporting your new Clinical team. You will lead the clinical meetings, consider how we can grow and improve our practice and team and along with the practice manager be responsible for delivery of key strategic and commercial objectives. You will continue to grow close working relationships with our other practice on the Isle of Wight to ensure we have a consistent approach to clinical and non-clinical aspects.
Your new role will be working a 4 day week, with 1:4 Saturday mornings on a rota and no OOH. We are looking for a veterinary surgeon that works to excellent clinical standards, is enthusiastic and passionate about veterinary medicine and will drive the practice standards in the role of Head Vet. Full training and support is available for those new to a leadership role. This may suit someone wanting to take the next career step.
Accommodation is available and we will support travel costs to the Island (including ferry costs) for the duration of the period.
