Why CVS?
Positive culture
From the way we value our people, to the way we care for our patients and the way we live our values, CVS is exceptional. We support our nurses to deliver caring at its best.
Utilise your skills and training
At CVS we are passionate about allowing RVN’s to utilise their extensive training, qualification and experience. Which is why, along with pushing for greater clarification regarding schedule 3 legislation, we also strongly support changes in legislation that will break down barriers and allow RVN’s to perform more procedures in practice.
Superb training
At CVS we are committed to developing our people and believe that their development should be at the heart of our organisation. Nurses play an integral part in delivering high clinical standards to our patients and we want you to be the best you can be. As such, we have created the Nursing Excellence Programme in partnership with Royal Veterinary College. The Nursing Excellence Programme delivers outstanding flexible, online, modular CPD in subjects that include:
- Anaesthesia and analgesia for nurses
- Difficult births, sick foals and other equine emergencies
- Diagnostic imaging for nurses
- Haematology and cytology
- Small mammal nursing
- Emergency and critical care for nurses
- Small animal medical nursing
- Schedule 3 surgical nursing
No limits
Thanks to the broad range of services we deliver, we are also able to offer a wide range of veterinary career opportunities to our nurses and the ability for you to progress into the areas of veterinary that you are most passionate about. We have qualified nurses in senior positions across our organisation, including on our Board, and set no limits to how high you can progress in your career here.
Whether you join us as a student, newly qualified or experienced nurse, we will support you to create a career path that works for you. And with over 500 practice sites across the UK, Ireland and Netherlands, we have genuine opportunities for your long term development and career ambitions.
Force for good
We actively encourage a work/life balance that really works for our colleagues and work hard to ensure we can offer flexible working arrangements to many of our nurses. We offer attractive wellbeing benefits and also support our colleagues who wish to undertake veterinary charity work.
