The Dispensing Veterinary Surgeon - Prescription Operations Processing Manager will work with the Dispensing Veterinary Surgeon - Compliance Lead to oversee that their teams are compliant with up-to-date requirements. These include guidelines that relate to governing bodies and operating procedures of the business. This is so that Animed Direct comply with the retail distribution licence for veterinary medicinal products.

 

The role will be continuously aiming to maintain and improve the high standards of efficiency and support provided to customers who order prescription medication.

 

A Dispensing Veterinary Surgeon - Prescription Operations Processing Manager will ensure that the resource level is balanced, well-scalable and that potential risks and contingencies have a resolute mitigation plan in place.

 

You will provide leadership and guidance to a team of professional dispensing veterinary surgeons and administrators.

 

The role will require full transparency and traceability of performance to ensure that critical SLA targets are met. This is across all related operations on both an individual and at a departmental level.

 

As a Dispensing Veterinary Surgeon - Prescription Operations Processing Manager you will be responsible for implementing wider team KPIs for your individuals and creating a positive environment for your team to work. In your role you will be a people leader who is there to support your team in all areas of their position and to lead by example.

 


Within the role you will work within the Vet team, ensuring prescription validity, clinical accuracy and compliance with VMD regulations. You will be liaising with veterinary practices and prescribing veterinary surgeons to clarify any prescription anomalies or queries. You will have oversight of the Prescription Administration team ensuring that all medication is assigned in a timely manner.

 

This position is based at our Head Office in Diss, where we are offering hybrid working following training.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for delivery of high-standard service-level (SLA) targets in providing prescription approval and customer support.
  • Responsible for the line management of the Animed Vet Team and Prescriptions Administration Team Leader.
  • Hands-on involvement in the approval and dispensing of prescription medication, including issue resolution.
  • Responsible to oversee effective communication between customers, prescribing vets and Customer operations departments around resolution of queries related to ordering prescription medication.
  • To own, measure and report on performance KPIs across all areas of your team
  • To monitor, audit and record operational processes on our internal documentation systems, Doctract and Q-Pulse.
  • To manage, nurture and retain a team of professionals and to make sure it scales well into the future growth.
  • To establish close coordination with the relevant leadership individuals in Customer Operations.

 

Skills and experience required:

  • UK Practicing MRCVS on the RCVS register
  • Experience in dispensing prescription medication
  • Customer-centric view on support and advice practices, and handling issue resolution
  • Good understanding of a modern retail operation
  • Excellent knowledge of the range of VMD-licenced medicinal products.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, partnership and influence management skills
  • Proven track record of successful line management.
  • High affinity for data, aiming for statistical objectivity and precision in measuring performance and reporting on KPIs.
  • Be equally comfortable operating at a strategic level or to get into the weeds and execute at a tactical level to help and inspire your reports.
  • A pro-active self-starter with a 'can-do' attitude and collaborative nature.
