The bond between owners and their pets is often much stronger than we are willing to admit. Those of us who are fortunate enough to have that special bond know that the loss of such unconditional love can be devastating.

We aim to ease the sadness of parting by providing our clients with a dignified and personal service. Founded in 1977 we have helped many people say their final goodbye to their pet, companion and much loved friend. Many clients decide to have their beloved pet cremated whilst others choose to have their pet buried in our peaceful pet cemetery.

This is a rewarding position working alongside the team at Silvermere Haven Pet Cemetery Crematorium.  Due to the sensitive nature of our business, we are looking for someone who is kind, compassionate, friendly and confident.

You will be required to speak to owners of deceased pets and give time and support where needed, always acting in a courteous and empathetic manner. The ideal person must have a confident and friendly telephone manner, with good Microsoft office skills and be a real team player.

This is a permanent position working full time from 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities & Duties:  

  • General typing up of documents.
  • Monitoring office stock and supplies, reordering when necessary.
  • Checking cremated ashes and packaging into correct containers.
  • Deal with any queries from customers over the phone and face to face.
  • Faxing, printing, photocopying, filing, scanning etc.
  • Producing invoices for general public customers and account veterinary customers.
  • Knowledge of Sage or Microsoft NAV would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Following up and responding to customers who use our social media platforms.

Skills Experience & Attributes Required:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Outstanding telephone manner with the ability to build rapport with customers quickly.
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
  • Eager to learn and willingness to get involved and grow.
  • Strong organisational skills, time management and prioritising skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team but also independently.
  • Excellent IT skills with proven confidence in Microsoft Office.
