An exciting opportunity has opened up for an Experienced Equine Surgeon to join our team at Western Counties Equine Hospital on a permanent contract with full time or part time options available.

Nestled in rural Devon in a peaceful, tranquil environment yet easily accessible being only a 10-minute drive from Junctions 26 and 27 of the M5.

We are an RCVS accredited equine hospital, with facilities second to none in the Westcountry and since opening, we have invested in a continued program of development and improvements.  Western Counties is a well-equipped Hospital with a standing MRI, standing and general anaesthesia surgery suites, objective gait analysis, in-house laboratory and plans for a large arena for ridden assessments.

We have a progressive friendly team committed to offering the highest standards of clinical care and a strong teamwork ethic.

We receive a wide range of elective and emergency surgery cases referred from across the South West as well as a significant lameness / poor performance caseload.

This role would suit an experienced surgeon who has a DipECVS/ACVS qualification, although surgeons who have completed a surgical residency and are competent in sole charge emergency surgery are encouraged to apply.  The candidate would be able to develop their own varied caseload whilst being part of a supportive and knowledgeable team. Your own development and specialist interests will also be fully encouraged.

In order to be considered for this role, you will need to be RCVS registered or be eligible to register.
