Equine Vet - Equine Veterinary Centre

Practice Site:
  • Equine Veterinary Centre (Doncaster)

Equine Veterinary Centre (Doncaster)

Equine Vet – The Equine Veterinary Centre –Moorhouse, South Yorkshire

We are looking for a vet to complete the team at our lovely practice in Yorkshire. We are looking for someone who loves being a vet, wants to be part of a happy and fun workplace and enjoy a terrific work life balance. We are ideally looking for someone with at least a couple of years experience as there are a lot of opportunities within the practice clinically and in management.

With these being the pillars to our practice we offer:

  •  4 day working week(non condensed)
  • Reduced after-hours due to Equicall
  • 5 weeks holiday with the option to take a further 2 weeks
  • We factor in travel time, paperwork time, have a scheduled lunch break and reduce the impact of late calls by scheduling time for the after hours vet to be available from 4:30pm
  • We meet at the centre at 8:30 to have a catch up socially and to discuss cases before heading to our first visits.
  • If it is quiet we are happy for you to go home, walk the dog, do the shopping etc (provided you are available to pick up calls when required and all your admin duties are up to date).
  • We are an inclusive and very supportive practice
  • Salary starting at £34k for new graduate, to £65k depending on experience.

In return we expect you:

  • To be a team player
  • Strive to provide great service to our lovely client base
  • Be the best vet you can by learning and challenging yourself
  • Engage and support everyone in the practice
  • Help develop the practice and have an input in practice direction and day-to-day running

We are committed to providing a great work life balance. The vet's day is organised realistically with provision for travel time, administration duties, lunch breaks and picking up/returning equipment/ lab samples to the centre. Our vets are supported by patient care assistants who help the day run smoothly and can assist. Of course, occasionally you may finish a bit later because that is the nature of the job but you will see we do try reasonably in our power to get our vets home on time. We have all the usual equipment and ability to work cases up at the practice (3 Stables, examination area and indoor school)

We have an excellent client base that you'll enjoy getting to know and working with. Our workload is varied with the majority of clients are pleasure horse owners. The cost of living is also more reasonable so it is a great opportunity to settle down or save for the long term goals. You'll have easy access to the city lights of Leeds and Sheffield but live in 'God's own country' full of beautiful places to explore and visit. London is 1hr 40 mins by train.

Our latest new graduate has flourished. She has bought a house in the area, she has become an extremely capable vet and has already developed her own loyal client base. Her interest is in reproduction and she is now a proficient stud vet successfully following through frozen semen inseminations by herself within 12 months of graduation. Libby would be more than willing to discuss her experiences working with us.
