We are excited to open an ECVIM-CA accredited internal medicine residency position at Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists (LPVS) (Alton, UK) to start in July 2026.

We are seeking a proactive and professional individual with strong interpersonal and time-management skills to join our Internal Medicine Team. You will be supervised and supported by seven internal medicine diplomates (ECVIM-CA and/or ACVIM). The programme is ECVIM-accredited and will provide training in all aspects of internal medicine; including endoscopy, diagnostic imaging, oncology, clinical pathology and emergency and critical care, in preparation for the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ECVIM) diploma examinations. An experienced veterinary epidemiologist within our company can provide support for statistics and research. We also have an active research collaboration with the University of Surrey (UoS), School of Veterinary Medicine. You will participate in an out of hour on-call rota for medical emergencies (1:4 weekends on call and 1 weekday night on call, both with senior clinician back-up).

The hospital is an ISFM gold feline clinic and was awarded the BVHA design award for an outstanding working environment. We are seeking an individual with outstanding skills in communication with clients and colleagues, an ability to stay calm under pressure and work as a team are essential. Experience in managing complex cases is highly desirable. The resident must also demonstrate a commitment to practising the highest standards of veterinary medicine and patient care and a passion for research. We expect that candidates will have excellent standards of written and spoken English. A minimum of twelve months experience working as a qualified Veterinary Surgeon in a first opinion setting in the UK is highly desirable. We expect that candidates will have completed a one-year rotating internship. The candidate should ensure that they are able to work in the United Kingdom before applying and be a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. We offer a very competitive salary (£45,700 in year 1) with excellent benefits, including 5 weeks of annual leave plus public holidays, a yearly CPD budget and allocated funds for research for every resident. Sufficient protected off-clinic time is also included for study and research.

Applications for this 3-year residency program (including your CV, letter of intent, and contact details of two referees) can be submitted through the CVS job portal until and including the 11th of February 2026.
