Emergency OOH work is hard!! It is busy, unpredictable and fast paced! Why do all the GDVs come in on the same night? Is it to do with the moon? (We're a superstitious lot despite practising evidence based veterinary medicine). That's why it is so important to have a well-staffed, passionate and close knit team by your side, not to mention all the right equipment to do your job properly (plentiful drip pumps, syringe drivers and multi parameter monitors anyone?!).
We have a fantastic, enthusiastic team here at MiNight Vet Chester/Wirral. We don't claim to always get it right whether it comes to staffing, wellbeing and other matters but we do try hard! Extra staffing and pizza at Bank Holidays, in-house training and annual salary reviews are standard. The night and weekend teams are made up of multiple nurses, receptionists, VCAs and Interns so you ‘never walk alone' (we're based fairly close to Liverpool!).
MiNight Vet Chester/Wirral is based within the referral hospital Chestergates Veterinary Specialists and covers the OOHs for a large number of first opinion practices in the Chester and Wirral region. The hospital is well equipped with all the usual toys plus some extras given the referral setting. There are lots of super clever and supportive specialists that nurture an environment of constant learning and improvement. And did I mention that the nursing and support teams are absolutely amazing as well!
We put a lot of effort into facilitating regular handover sessions with sufficient shift overlap as we recognise the importance of clear client communication and continuity of care even in an ECC/OOH setting. The team of Vets are all working towards or have completed their ECC certificates and provide a high level of clinical care with an extra dollop of compassion and care.
I could tell you more about the wonderful feedback from the staff and clients alike or the employee benefits on offer but why not get in touch and come and find out for yourself?
We currently have a vacancy for a Twilight Vet (Maternity Cover) working 7 nights on and 14 off rota pattern on an annualised contract basis OR a job share of part of this role. This vacancy is for a 12 month fixed term contract with the possibility of a permanent role in future. The salary on offer for this role is £35-40k (£55-64k FTE), depending on experience.
There are plans to add to the team over the coming year as the workload continues to grow. The more creative the solutions, the better. So if none of the vacancies suit but you are still interested in finding out more then please still get in touch.
