Axiom Laboratories has a unique opportunity for a Software Developer to join our expanding development team.
As a key member you'll get to design, develop, test, deploy and maintain software solutions which serve a wide range of requirements. You will have guidance from experienced developers and be allowed to grow within the team. Working in the veterinary industry our software is the back bone to our laboratories.
Our work varies from direct interfacing of custom machinery through to UK wide software applications, our customers are both internal businesses from a diverse corporate group to individual independent veterinary practices. We have a very dynamic team and need people that are passionate about tackling new problems and challenges. No solution is off the cards, and we like to test new technologies and explore new possibilities.

You in the role
After an initial orientation period you will be involved in project meetings and conceptual design. You will take on responsibility for small sections of work over seen by the line manager, from there you will develop individual projects and take on a lead role is project development. Mentoring, coaching and contributing to the team will become essential as you become a part of the business and we'll give you the opportunity to be creative and decide how you want to get the work done, as long as you can deliver.
Interviews will be done in two stages, the first will be a technical interview whereby you will have a programming test and a technical interview. This will assess your problem solving, analytical skills, and design and give us an idea of your approach and methods of programming.
If you are successful at the first stage, you will be invited back for a formal interview with members of the management team.
You will receive a competitive basic salary (dependant on your experience) in exchange for working a 40 hour week, Monday to Friday. You'll receive 25 days paid holiday plus bank holidays, company contributory pension and access to our company share save scheme.
We have a constantly developing diagnostic laboratory site with nearby food and drink facilities, and relaxed dress code.
