University of Surrey – CVS (Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists) Residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine
We are excited to offer this three-year clinical training post that will start in summer 2021, based at Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists (LPVS) in Alton, UK. The residency is combined with the Department of Veterinary Pre-Clinical Sciences at the University of Surrey (UoS) School of Veterinary Medicine, so includes an expectation to be involved in research and undergraduate teaching, in collaboration with the clinical training provided by LPVS.
You will be supervised and supported by the two ECVIM-CA and one ACVIM diplomates based at LPVS. The programme is ECVIM-accredited and will provide training in all aspects of internal medicine; including endoscopy, diagnostic imaging, oncology, clinical pathology and emergency and critical care, in preparation for the ECVIM diploma examinations after completion. The resident will also be provided with the opportunity to design and perform research in conjunction with academics based at UoS, in order to fulfill the research requirement of the credential process. Access to UoS laboratories and relevant software for research will be made available for this. You will also participate in an out of hours on-call rota for medical emergencies.
