A new and rare opportunity for a Product Development Co-ordinator has arisen at Vet Direct. We are a progressive, forward thinking veterinary supply company, owned by CVS, who are seeking an individual that has experience in developing new products based on thorough and consultative market research, consumer testing and product portfolio analysis.

 

You will need to have excellent organisation skills and an eye for detail as you analyse data for gaps, trends and opportunities. Your interpersonal skills should be exceptional as this post co-ordinates across a number of departments to share knowledge and bring about change. You will work with:

  • An experienced and detailed Technical Support Team to develop and tweak products with manufacturers to ensure they are fit for purpose
  • A Purchasing Team that imports and ships from over a hundred suppliers to ensure demand is met
  • A creative sales and marketing department who are keen to share and sell the new products you present

 

Our customers are veterinary professionals from all over the world – they are the most dedicated and conscientious vet people whose priority is to provide best clinical care to pets in their care – what a great purpose to have. Within the CVS group there are over 500 veterinary sites that use Vet Direct as a dedicated supplier ensuring we have a stable customer base, and we use this buying power to drive a product portfolio that is very attractive to all veterinary professionals.

 

Role summary:

  • To co-ordinate the product portfolio development based on research, market trends and customer feedback
  • To gather intelligence on competing products and companies to ensure competitive pricing to us and the customer
  • Collate, research and find solutions to customers' needs and develop new product areas through co-ordinating with colleagues
  • Work closely with colleagues and customers to improve product offering and drive innovation

 

Key experience required:

  • Experienced in maintaining and developing a product portfolio, preferably with medical equipment and consumables
  • Confident communicator, both verbally and written with ability to explore through effective questioning
  • Problem solver with an analytic mind-set to be able to unpick and present data
  • Sound user of Microsoft applications in particular excel
  • A drive to gain commercial improvements
  • Has a ‘can do' attitude and positive approach to work
