Junior Property Solicitor - Support Office

We are currently recruiting for a recently graduated Junior Property Solicitor to join our legal team here at the CVS Support Office in Diss, Norfolk.

Within this role, you will be required to provide legal support to In House Solicitor by undertaking predominantly property-related legal work on behalf of the company and its trading subsidiaries. Maintain ownership of files/matters and progress them to completion in accordance with the company's instructions.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • To provide support for the In House Solicitor on commercial property transactions
  • To Liaise with Practice Staff and external landlords regarding property matters
  • To facilitate communication between the Property department and other teams at Support Office
  • Providing exceptional legal advice across all development projects, leasing and alteration licenses.
  • Delivering legal support for the company as well as the operational business.
  • Advising on key legal risks associated with estate transactions
  • Drafting and reviewing leases, tenancy agreements, license of alterations and fit out works.

Key Tasks & Duties will include:

  • Managing a varied caseload of commercial property transactions acting for the tenant, mainly commercial lease, license for alterations and tenant matters.
  • Providing support to the practice division to advice on lease end dates, boundary disputes and various other queries in relation to the lease.
  • Dealing with instructions through to post completion.
  • Dealing with enquires raised by client and by solicitors acting for other parties
  • To undertake any other duties that from time to time may prove necessary, including relevant duties or projects delegated by the In-house Solicitor, which are in line with the responsibilities of the post.
  • Ensure compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct, the Legal Services Act 2007 and the Company's own policies and protocols which govern the provision of in-house legal services.
  • Make yourself familiar with and comply in all respects with any new company policies
  • Read firm communications and support new initiatives
  • Attend staff training courses and internal office meetings, as and when required
  • Make yourself familiar with and comply in all respects with any new company policies

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in a major law firm and/or in-house role along with the following:

  • Resilience to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment with exceptional communication skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Experience in relevant legal areas including, planning, commercial property, landlord and tenant and leasehold.
  • The ability to work autonomously, exercise discretion and sound judgement where necessary.
