HR Advisor (6 month FTC) - Business Operations - Home Based with Travel

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor to join the largest integrated corporate veterinary provider in the UK on a minimum 6 month fixed term contract.


Working within our HR Team, you will provide a professional and proactive HR service across veterinary practices predominantly in the South East of the UK.  Providing support, coaching and advice to stakeholders; you will ensure compliance with legislation and internal policies to drive best practice.


Within this role you will manage a diverse workload that includes: employee relations, new business acquisitions and HR projects. 


Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Building effective partnerships with your business stakeholders to ensure HR best practice is applied consistently across your regions
  • Manage complex and challenging ER issues including disciplinary; grievance; performance management; absence management; investigations; TUPE; working time regulations
  • Training/Coaching your business stakeholders in HR policies and procedures
  • Attending formal and informal meetings /  investigations and preparing relevant outcome letters & reports
  • Supporting change management; talent development and HR based projects
  • Using HR metrics to inform and influence business and local level decision making

The successful candidate will be an experienced HR Advisor with full generalist, complex ER and change management experience.  With a postgraduate qualification in HR Management and CIPD qualifications, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience within a field based role, supporting a geographically dispersed customer base
  • An excellent understanding of current employment law/people management issues
  • Experience of coaching to managers to ensure consistency and best practice within a business
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • An ability to work within a remote team


This role is initially home-based with future travel and some overnight stays - this will be dependent on the ongoing current situation with COVID and also the business requirements at that time.
