HR Administrator - Business Operations - Netherlands

At CVS Group we are one of the largest integrated veterinary groups in Europe with a turnover in excess of £500M and almost 500 veterinary practice sites across the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands. Alongside veterinary practices, we also operate pet crematoria, laboratories, a distribution centre, an online business and buying groups. Based at one of our veterinary practices in the Netherlands, the HR Administrator will work with the Senior HR Officer/Advisor to provide an efficient and effective HR service to approximately 230 employees. We are looking for a highly organised individual who has excellent attention to detail and who is passionate about ensuring our people are paid correctly each and every time. This is a fundamental part of the employee experience and a responsibility we don't take lightly. There will also be the opportunity to identify improvements to current ways of working and being involved in other HR initiatives, helping us achieve our aim of making CVS the Veterinary Company most people want to work for.

Main duties and responsibilities to include:

  • Assist and deal with a range of queries that come into HR on a daily basis
  • Administer the new starter process - including producing offer letters and contracts, undertaking the necessary compliance checks, setting up employee file, adding onto electronic records and responding to queries in a timely manner
  • Administer a range of employee amendments - such as salary and role changes, maternity, paternity and adoption, fixed term contract extensions, probations and other ad hoc amendments as and when required
  • Monitoring and complying with the agreements regarding the transition to the general terms and conditions of CVS, in close collaboration with the salary administrator
  • Administer the leavers' process - including updating electronic records, issuing the relevant letter, dealing with any queries and moving the employee file into the leavers folder
  • Assist the Senior HR Officer/Advisor with payroll processing for circa 230 employees
  • Accurately complete the new starter, amendments and leaver audit files for monitoring and reporting purposes
  • Acquisitions – setting up employee files, general enquiries and liaising with the practice manager
  • Maintain Employee files, both paper and electronic on a regular basis to comply with AVG (GDPR)
  • Ensure that basic governance is followed
  • Assist the Senior HR Officer/Advisor with general HR matters, process reviews and ad hoc projects
  • Support the annual bonus and salary review processes
  • Update and maintain UWV records
  • Registering absenteeism reports, keeping an overview of current sick reports and administrative support for the case manager with the absenteeism files
  • Creation and delivery of HR related financial statements
  • Support with Employee relations process – basic letters, correspondence and preparing evidence as and when required
  • Build and maintain good working relationship with all HR colleagues

 

Skills and experience required:

  • Good communication (verbal and written) and must be fluent in English and Dutch
  • Interpersonal skills with experience of interaction with individuals at all levels
  • Works with high attention to detail
  • Ability to organise and manage time effectively, prioritising own workload to meet deadlines
  • A professional, confident and pleasant manner with a strong work ethic
  • Pro-active and efficient
  • Conscientious with an ability to be flexible and multitask
  • Shows initiative and is able to work both independently and as part of a wider team
  • Great customer service delivery at all levels
  • Must be competent in adhering to AVG (GDPR)
  • Minimum of two years' experience in working within a HR Administration role
  • Experience managing payroll and contract administration
  • Experience with recruitment
  • HR qualification or equivalent working experience
  • Computer literate, particularly with Word and Excel
  • Strong numeracy skills
