Endell Equine Hospital
Equine Veterinary Surgeon required at Endell Equine Hospital, Salisbury
Are you looking for an exciting ambulatory and hospital role?
Are you looking to work with an experienced and progressive team?
We are looking for a new member to join our team at Endell Equine Hospital, Salisbury! This is a mixed ambulatory and hospital position, which would suit an enthusiastic individual who has completed an internship and is comfortable with anaesthesia, although, we are happy to consider different levels of experience. There is the opportunity to develop the role into a Senior Ambulatory Equine Vet position for candidates with appropriate experience. This will involve leading and supporting the ambulatory team and ensuring best practice is maintained and developed alongside the most current thinking.
The client base is varied from shetlands to top level sports horses, from stud work to racing work. The vet team have many interests with multiple certificates between them and a diploma-holding surgeon. We provide equine rotations for Bristol students so there is the opportunity for teaching if interested!
Endell Equine Hospital is a Tier 3 Equine Hospital with full surgical suite, scintigraphy, multiple mobile radiography units, endoscopy and gastroscopy, ultrasonography, laser (surgical and therapeutic), electrochemotherapy unit, gait analysis system (Equigait), and all the usual gadgets! As well as our on-site surgical specialist, we also have regular visits from medicine, dental and ophthalmology specialists. We host monthly clinical clubs and monthly m&ms for the vet team.
This is a full time role (part-time/flexible working considered) with a 1:8 ambulatory/hospital rota and 1:8 for hospital only when the ambulatory is covered by Equicall (so 1:4 out of hours duties in total). This is likely to improve to 1:5 from Summer 2023. We are based on the edge of Salisbury, just 15 minutes from the New Forest and with good train connections into London.
