Troytown Grey Abbey Equine Hospital & Laboratory
Troytown Greyabbey comprises a referral hospital and ambulatory practice and is split between 2 sites in the town of Kildare, Ireland.
Thoroughbred breeding mares and youngstock comprise the largest proportion of our hospital work, but we also have substantial racehorse in training and sports horse caseloads. Horses travel from around the country and abroad to attend our hospital and our patients include Group 1 winners and Olympic competitors.
The hospital is equipped to provide gold-standard care. Facilities include: scintigraphy, radiography, ultrasonography, Hallmarq MRI, flexible and rigid endoscopy, overground endoscopy and treadmill, telemetric ECG, therapeutic and diode lasers, shockwave, surgical facilities for arthroscopy, laparoscopy and internal fixation and stabling for over 40 horses. Planning permission has been secured for a new hospital and CT unit.
A third surgeon is sought to join our team which includes two board certified specialists (DACVS/DACSMR) holders of postgraduate qualifications is anaesthesia, equine practice, equine surgery, equine medicine and equine reproduction. Development of specific clinical interests and clinical research are strongly encouraged and facilitated.
The practice is situated in the town of Kildare, the heart of Irish thoroughbred racing and breeding industry. Kildare has excellent transport links to Dublin and the rest of Ireland. Dublin International airport is only 50km away.
