Equine Diagnostic Imager. Bell Equine Veterinary Clinic
Due to expansion of our imaging facilities, we invite applications for a full- or part-time RCVS registerable equine diagnostic imager to join the multi-disciplinary team at Bell Equine Veterinary Clinic, Kent, UK.
The successful applicant will be expected to join the team of 3 diagnostic imagers (2 ECVDI LA diplomats and one ECVDI LA associate) and work collaboratively reading and reporting both in-house and external imaging studies. Hands-on clinical work alongside image reading will be supported but is not essential, depending on the interests of the candidate. The role also offers the flexibility of both ‘in clinic' and teleradiology work. The role would therefore suit a board eligible or newly trained specialist interested in joining a large collaborative team as well as a more established specialist aiming for flexibility in working arrangements.
The candidate will be expected to not only support the team of multi-disciplinary specialists at the clinic but also continue to develop the imaging service at Bell Equine to achieve best patient care and advance equine imaging. The candidate will also be expected to help with formal and informal teaching and mentoring of visiting students and in-house staff including interns, residents, ambulatory vets and nurses.
Bell Equine is equipped with multiple high-end ultrasound and DR systems for both in clinic and ambulatory use. Within the clinic, advanced imaging facilities include a gamma camera for nuclear medicine, a low-field MR system, a standing cone beam CT system and we are soon to install a fan-beam CT system for both standing and anaesthetised studies providing a wide variety of exposure to both conventional and advanced imaging studies. The case load at Bell Equine is predominantly pleasure and performance horses and specialist exposure to imaging of differing caseloads is plentiful due to the collaboration with other practices in the CVS Group. The practice is committed to practising evidence based veterinary medicine, and clinical research using our clinical caseload is encouraged.
The package will be dependent on the individual's experience but CVS offers an appealing ‘specialist' package with attractive salaries, holiday and CPD allowances and other benefits.
