Equine Ambulatory Vet
Due to recent expansion, the Equine Veterinary Centre is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced ambulatory vet to join our modern 6 vet equine practice. We cover a wide area including parts of North, South, East & West Yorkshire as well as North Lincolnshire.
We encourage a healthy work life balance. Vets will work a non-condensed 4 day week. You will have the same day off each week to plan your leisure pursuits in the pleasant surrounds of Yorkshire. After hour duties are equally shared as a 1 in 6 rota. Employees are permitted 5 weeks' annual leave, whilst 2 additional weeks can be taken unpaid.
We work predominantly with leisure horse owners whilst also attending to hunt stables, competition yards and horse studs. We encourage staff to follow their cases through and provide support and guidance when needed. We have the reassuring back-up of a number of local specialist equine referral hospitals which we have great relationships with.
We offer a full range of routine equine veterinary duties and are fully equipped (portable digital x-ray, 3 scanners, endoscope, gastroscope, motorised dental equipment, oroscope and shockwave). We share a laser machine with a neighbouring practice to remove sarcoids and melanomas.
Although most of the work is on the road, we have inpatient facilities including 3 stables, indoor examination and treating area, stocks and access to an on-site indoor arena.
You will be working alongside an experienced, motivated and fun team. We support further development and encourage staff to follow their specialist interests. Opportunities to develop and undertake management duties within the practice and the organisation are also encouraged.
Formal CPD (5 days per annum) is funded whilst there is plenty of access to more informal internal CPD within CVS.
Salary will be commensurate with experience with RCVS subscription paid. We also offer industry leading maternity and paternity benefits.
