Electrical Engineer - MiLab Harleston


Working Hours: 09.00 – 17.00, Monday to Friday with some flexibility as required

MiLab Diagnostics is dedicated to providing a quality diagnostic service to the veterinary profession. We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join our MiLab team as our dedicated  electrical engineer (practical) which will involve assembling, testing, repairing and modifying equipment at our offices and occasionally our client sites.

You must be able to understand and utilise test equipment, having knowledge of microcontrollers and stepper motors as well as the ability to repair equipment adhering to regulatory requirements. Have great attention to detail, organised, practical alongside being self motivated and possessing good communication skills. Previous experience would be advantageous, however full training will be provided in Europe, possible travel to varying locations within the UK, Ireland and Netherlands is a requirement for this role.


  • Basic troubleshooting, installation, maintenance and repair on designated equipment on site.
  • Advanced troubleshooting including; root cause analysis, maintenance and repair on designated equipment in the workshop.
  • Completing Preventative Maintenance and field modifications.
  • Reporting and managing tools and spare parts.
  • Keeping up to date on administrative responsibilities such as maintaining service logs, reports and records as required.
  • Maintaining daily communications with management to ensure resolution and proper follow-up.
  • Maintaining tools and test equipment and ensuring they are properly calibrated.
  • Utilizing the escalation process to resolve customer service delivery issues.
  • Working as a member of our team to provide efficient service delivery to all accounts.
  • The ability to lift and carry a weight of up to 30Kgs.

Preferred Qualifications:

BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) – 17th or 18th Edition

HNC, BTEC, or NVQ certifications in Electronics (HNC preferred)

Qualified Electronic Tradesman
