Education LMS Developer – Full Stack - Business Operations

We are currently recruiting for an Education LMS Developer – Full Stack The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the development and delivery of the learning portfolio for CVS. As a team, we are focused on user centred design and prioritise the user experience of our educational offerings and this role will support novel developments and innovations to improve our capabilities of delivery and learner experience.


A core responsibility will be developing and maintaining our package of online educational material, LED database, website and our LMS (Totara or Moodle) to enable the LED Team to create state-of-the-art learning opportunities in a user-centred fashion. This role will support the team develop knowledge, skills and behavioural capability across all levels at CVS, and will support the development of external sales within the animal sector based on agreed training needs. You will work with our flexible and dynamic design team and other colleagues to develop and maintain websites and apps to help deliver a highly engaging and interactive learning experience.


Key duties include:

  • Work with LED design team to develop and maintain bespoke websites and apps to support LED learning materials and activities
  • Manage and maintain the Totara or Moodle LMS to ensure it continuously meets internal and external educational needs, in conjunction with the support provider
  • Be the main contact and liaison with the Totara or Moodle LMS support provider
  • Create and generate standard and bespoke reports to share LED data and KPIs with the business
  • Work with our LMS support provider to manage a maintain an LMS platform that meets learner needs
  • Work with LED colleagues and the design team to create user friendly websites and/or apps that present our learning materials in their best light focused on the end user


Key skills and experience required:

  • Proficient and experienced in the use of front end programming languages including HTML, Javascript and CSS
  • Proficient and experienced in the use of back end programming languages including Python, Ruby and PHP
  • Proficient and experienced in the use of database storage solutions like JSON, SQL and NoSQL
  • Proficient in UI/UX and graphic design to help ensure the end user remains our focus
  • Experience of working with Totara or Moodle LMS platforms
  • Contribute to a collegiate atmosphere within a multi-disciplinary and diverse team
  • Desire to contribute actively to the development of others
  • Highly organised with a strong attention to detail
  • The ability to effectively manage a varied workload, sometimes with conflicting priorities
