CVS Graduate Programme 2019 - Opportunities available across the UK

CVS New Graduate Programme 2019

Be more

Are you looking for a complete two year graduate programme, designed by experienced vets, which will fully support you in your first two years in practice?

Are you looking for a graduate programme that offers you tailored support, development and CPD in a choice of disciplines ranging from our most popular Small Animal and extending to Equine, Large Animal and Mixed roles too?

Are you looking for a programme that offers you the right support network and clinical mentoring in your practice, as well as dedicated CPD days throughout the year - CPD days that allow you to share experiences with fellow graduates, whilst also supporting you with clinical skills, business insight, wellbeing support and resilience techniques from the start?

We are extremely proud of the CVS Graduate Programme and have supported over 400 brilliant graduates with the programme since 2015. We are always learning and working hard to constantly evolve the programme each year – in order to provide you with the best support and opportunity for your first years in practice.

We have over 500 practice sites across the UK and have some fantastic openings at our practices for the 2019 Graduate Programme.

This is what some of our vets on the CVS Graduate Programme say

“When you're working in practice, what you are responsible for hits you - that animal under anaesthetic is your responsibility, it's on you. All the teaching in the world can't prepare you for that moment. That's why the support on the graduate programme and in practice is so vital.” – Daisy Sutton MRCVS, Studley Road Vets

“The New Graduate Programme has been a fantastic learning opportunity. It has helped me to hit the ground running with a wide-range of CPD and an opportunity to meet fellow New Graduate colleagues to share the highs and lows of our first year in practice.” – Will Lawrance MRCVS, West Mount Vets

These are just some of the benefits of the programme

A starting salary of £30,900, rising after year one and then again after year two to over £36,000 (plus the chance to earn added bonus)

  • 10 CPD days a year covering both clinical and non-clinical skills with a selection of CPD days that you can chose from to suit you, your interests and your practice role – such as dedicated small animal, equine and large animal streams
  • A committed and trained clinical mentor with regular meetings to support your transition from student to qualified vet
  • The option to undertake short-term externships in OOHs at our dedicated ECC centres and/or specific disciplines at one of our referral hospitals
  • The opportunity to mentor future graduates, undertake a fully funded certificate, remain where you are and continue to develop into an outstanding GP or to pursue a different career path in referrals, laboratories or non-clinical role after you have completed the scheme
